I am pleased to inform you that the Stowe Board of School Directors has selected Gretchen Muller as the principal of Stowe High School, effective July 1, 2019.
“Leading a school requires the ability to build positive and trusting relationships, honesty, systems thinking, the capacity to effectively collaborate and communicate, and a passion for learning and helping others learn,” said Gretchen Muller. “I am excited about the opportunity to provide SHS with the necessary tools to continue to help all students be successful.”
Ms. Muller currently serves as Principal Intern for the Champlain Valley School District, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Plymouth State and her Master’s in Secondary Education from Mount Saint Mary College. Ms. Muller is an accomplished leader with 18 years of combined experience as a teacher-leader, science educator, advisor/mentor, school program developer/coordinator and principal intern. In addition, Muller was a 2017 Rowland Fellow, has completed the Vermont School Leadership Project program with the Snelling Institute, and has been serving for the past eight years as co-coordinator of Burlington High School’s Year End Studies (Y.E.S.) Program.
Ms. Muller is a proven, outstanding leader who will bring years of invaluable experience to Stowe High School. I am confident that she will build upon the strengths of Stowe High School. We look forward to working with Ms. Muller and welcome her to our community.
Please join me in warmly welcoming Gretchen (and her family) to Stowe.
