Parents and community members have the opportunity to meet with the prospective candidate, Nina Slade, TONIGHT in the cafeteria from 5:00 PM - 5:45 PM. Please join us as we welcome Nina and introduce her to our wonderful community.
In an effort to make our dismissal routine safer and more efficient, we’ve planned a few changes that we hope will make everyone’s afternoon a little smoother. All of our bus riders and walkers will go to the gym with their classes to line up for the bus. Walkers will need to see a teacher and be checked off a list when they are leaving. Teachers will walk the remainder of the children to the dining area to be picked up by parents. Please note:
Walkers who are going to the village will leave from the gym after checking out.
Walkers who are going to the playground to be picked up later will stay in the gym and will go to the playground area after the buses leave.
Adults will pick up children in the dining area at 2:45, entering and exiting through the main entrance to the building. You will be able to leave with your child as soon as the teacher checks your child’s name, hopefully enabling you to get to other activities sooner.
We hope this procedure will be helpful to you, as families. Please help us out by making arrangements with your child the night before, whenever possible, and notifying your child’s teacher and the office. This creates a smooth transition from school to home or other activities.
Our next Community Meeting will be on Friday, April 5 at 8:20 AM. The main presenter will be Wendy Monahan, our inspirational Guidance Counselor, and the Parent Pop Quiz will be hosted by Tamara North's Fourth Graders. All are welcome to join us!
All third-grade students are participating in the MiniREAL Program. REAL stands for Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning. Students learn about entrepreneurship through a simulation that includes all aspects of starting a small business. They have applied for MiniREAL loans and are working towards repaying their startup costs, making rent payments, paying their employees and paying both personal and business taxes. All transactions are in MiniREAL dollars. $1.00 US = $10.00 MiniREAl.

Where has the time gone? In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it is possible to get so caught up in the day-to-day routines that we can easily forget one of our most vital roles as parents. No, it is not chief taxi driver and chef, although I know my children would tell you that is exactly what it is! Our most important job as a parent is to model the behaviors we are hoping to see in our children. This month I am sharing an article that helps us each to look at how we are role models when it comes to diversity. The article Help Kids by Role Modeling Respect for Diversity by Karen Stephens reminds us that a critical social skill that all children will need is to respond to diversity with “grace, respect, acceptance, and appreciation.”
Senator Sanders' Annual Vermont Student Choral Concert will take place on Saturday, April 6th, at South Burlington High School. Approximately 40 of our students will be performing! Stowe Youth Cycling (SYC) - registration is now open for Spring 2019! After school and Sunday programs will start in mid-May.
SYC is a skills based mountain bike progression program for athletes ages 6-18!
