The next Community Meeting will be on Friday, December 6 at 8:20 AM, at which time we will enjoy a preview of the SHS musical Big Fish, the Musical. Shows are Friday, December 6th at 7:00, Saturday, December 7th at 7:00 and a matinee on Sunday, December 8th at 2:00. You will be delighted by the talented cast and musical numbers, directed by our very own Music Teacher, Dana LaClair. To add to the excitement, Mrs. Tamara North's 4th Graders will be hosting the Parent Pop Quiz. Please join us!
The Winter Concert will be on Thursday, December 12th. Students in grades K-2, band and chorus will perform at the 1:45 concert. The 5th graders will also sing a song with their reading buddies! Students in grades 3-5, band and chorus will perform at the 6:30 concert.
There will be dress rehearsals for band and chorus next week. Band students should bring their instruments for Monday and Wednesday rehearsal. Band students will also need their instruments for the afternoon concert on Thursday. Chorus students will rehearse Monday, Tuesday and Thursday morning. Students in both ensembles should attend band rehearsal on Monday.
The children of SES and I are so excited to share this wonderful winter tradition with you!
Musically yours, Dana LaClair
With the arrival of freezing temps, snow and ice, it's the time of year for all students to be dressed appropriately for the elements! PLEASE make sure you send your children to school with warm jackets, snowpants, hats, scarves, mittens or gloves, boots (and shoes to change into). All clothing items should be labeled with your child's name. In order for your child to play on the playground when there's snow, snowpants and boots are MANDATORY.

The mountain is about to open, so let's get our kids out there! We are looking for many volunteers for Friday Program to keep this program alive. There are opportunities to chaperone ski and snowboard groups, and help students with their gear in the classroom, to ensure that ALL of our students have a wonderful season. The Friday Program dates are: January 10, January 17, January 24, January 31, February 14, March 6, March 13, March 27. Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated by our students and community.
Volunteer Perks: If you do not have an Epic Pass, you will receive a voucher to Stowe for every two times you volunteer. And don't forget the joy of skiing or riding with a group of eager students!

Please update the dismissal plans for your child/ren in PickUp Patrol. In too many cases, default plans reflect old activity schedules and now that we’re transitioning from one season to another, they’re often outdated. Plan changes need to be input, also, as that's how we determine what children should be doing after school. Thank you for your assistance!
Reminder: If you bought or sold boxes of Citrus they need to be picked up this week! Pick-up times will be from 11:30-12:30 on Friday and 9 am -12 pm on Saturday in front of the SES cafeteria. If you are unable to make either pick-up time, it is your responsibility to make arrangements for someone else to pick-up your orders for you! As with the wreath orders, we will have copies of your citrus orders available when you pick up to aid in delivery!
It is also your responsibility to coordinate citrus deliveries with those whom purchased from your child. Citrus boxes CANNOT be left outdoors, on porches, in garages or in cars... the contents will freeze and be ruined!
If you cannot remember if you bought or sold boxes of citrus - please email the PTO asap and we will let you know! [email protected]
Traditional Christmas in Stowe Children’s Lantern Parade starts at Stowe Elementary School, Friday December 6th at 4:30. Please pick up your lanterns in the Music Room at 4:20 pm. The parade, led by Mr. Dacales, travels up to Main Street, making stops along the way to magically light up trees and storefronts. We are planning on singing a few songs in front of the Memorial Building just before the lighting of Main Street at around 5:00 pm. After the last stop, the Lantern Parade continues to the Gale Recreation Center to warm up and have cider, donuts and fun activities! Parents must accompany the children during the parade. Hope to see you all there!
