Tick Season Prevention Message from Mary Karen, School Nurse

Ticks are out and busy! I have seen quite a few kids with ticks and recent tick bites! Please be mindful when having students outside and near wooded areas. Doing checks will help!

  Collection Drive

Over the past two months, the 4th graders have been working on a service learning project focused on creating positive change in our community. With the help of our partner organization, The Service Learning Project, students in two groups each selected an issue that they wanted to focus on. The groups chose to focus on homelessness and library access in Vermont.

Our homelessness group spent time researching homelessness in the state, interviewing local shelter directors, and developing an action plan for how they want to make a difference on this issue. One of their efforts includes a supply drive for individuals and families affected by homelessness here in the county. Donations of canned food, toiletries, and new or gently used blankets are needed. There will be two collection bins set up in the entrance of SES  through June 7, 2019.  Thank you!

Bake Sale-Muffin Pit Stop

The 4th grade students have decided to host a muffin sale at the school to raise money for the Stowe Free Library, to collect books for their annual book sale, and to raise funds to build a Tiny Free Library for a community that does not have library access in Vermont. At the muffin sale, they plan to exhibit informative flyers about their work and research, sharing with the school community how important library access is in our state and around the country.

This bake sale will take place on June 7, 2019 during pick up and drop off in front of the school.

Alon Goldstein Performance

Alon Goldstein, a concert pianist, will be performing at SES on Friday, June 7 from 1:00 to 1:45 PM.  All are invited to enjoy his mesmerizing talent, dynamic personality and artistic vision, courtesy of Stowe Performing Arts.

Messages from the PTO

Attention Parents! The SES PTO has a NEW WEBSITE coming this summer!

And with our new website we will be moving to a Digital SES Family Directory.

The Digital SES Family Directory will be available through the SES PTO website and via mobile app. It's secure, easy to use, and free to families!

The Digital SES Family Directory is:

  • Convenient: Quickly search by teacher to find classmates, by grade, by student name, or parent name, set up playdates, make birthday lists, etc.

  • Adaptable: New families added to the directory mid-year allows us to welcome everyone quickly and easily!

  • Safe and Secure: All student information is secure and you always have control of what information is included!  The directory is only available via secure log-in; only SES families see SES information!

A letter will be sent home over the summer with registration information!
