Winter Clothing Drive

The Youth Group at Blessed Sacrament Church would like to invite you to join our Warm Winter Clothing Drive for Lamoille County. Winter is approaching fast, and it's a great time to sort out your past season winter clothing collection and find a new home for those unloved, unused or grown-out-of warm winter gear. By donating clean, new or like-new winter clothing, you are supporting adults and children within our own community, who are in need of a helping hand to stay warm this winter. Winter clothing donations will be accepted at the Parish Hall at Blessed Sacrament Church, 728 Mountain Road, Stowe on the following dates:

Thursday 7th November 3-6.30pm

Friday 8th November 9am-3pm

Tuesday 12th-Friday 15th November 9am-3pm

Friday 15th November 4-8pm

Saturday 16th November 10am-1pm

We are accepting the following items in clean, new or like-new condition for adults and children:

    Coats and jackets

    Winter hats and beanies

    Gloves and scarves

    Winter boots and warm socks

    Thermal base layers

    Other warm winter clothing

Winter clothing items should be donated in clean (laundered), new or like-new condition. Clothing should function like-new (e.g. zippers should work; all buttons should be in place; no rips/tears; no large stains). Additionally, kindly check pockets for any hidden treasures before donating. We are also seeking donations of general basics to help support those in need within our own local communities - particularly toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, etc. Or if you prefer to donate food (non-perishable) and household items, we can handle that too!

All are welcome to attend the drive on Saturday 16th November, in the Parish Hall from 10am-1pm, either to give or to take, or swap - drop an item and take an item!

Any items remaining at the end of the day will be redistributed specifically within Lamoille County to shelters, as well as people and families in need.

Thanks in advance for your generosity!

Hunger's Hard, Baking's Easy!

Nobody should go hungry, especially during the holidays. The Stowe Schools, in partnership with the Blessed Sacrament Church, Stowe Community Church, and the Lamoille Family Center are collecting food to feed 30 families. Turkeys will be on display by Friday, November 8 in the Elementary, Middle and High School offices. Please help us by taking a feather and returning the item listed to that same location by Friday, November 22. We have collection boxes and fridge/freezer space available for storage at each school. Please give gift cards to the front office to hold. Your generosity is affording every family the opportunity to have a warm and hearty Holiday together.

Stowe Middle School is currently looking for one boys basketball coach and possibly one girls basketball coach (registration pending) for the 2019-2020 middle school season. The first day of practice begins on December 2 and the season concludes on February 15. Games and practices will only be held on school days and are Monday - Thursday. Home games and practices (practice times will fall within the 4:30pm-7:30pm time frame) are held at Stowe Elementary School. Please reach out to Kevin Lipple (SMHS Athletic Director, [email protected]) for more information.
