Stowe School Board Selects Next Principal for SES

The Stowe Board of School Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Nina Slade as the Principal of Stowe Elementary School, effective July 1, 2019.  Ms. Slade was selected after an extensive screening process that included a review of her application documentation and an interview with a screening committee comprised of members of the faculty of Stowe Elementary School.  Ms. Slade’s application was then recommended by the screening committee for further consideration and review by Superintendent Tracy Wrend and Stowe School Board members.

Ms. Slade earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from SUNY @ Fredonia and went on to complete her Masters in Curriculum Design and Reading from the University of Rochester.

Ms. Slade currently serves as Associate Principal at Nantucket Elementary School in Nantucket, Massachusetts.  Ms. Slade is an accomplished leader with 34 years of combined experience in the areas of teaching, administration, building community partnerships and designing professional development.  “I believe that educators shape the future,” said Nina Slade.  “We have an obligation to prepare students for their future educational challenges and life outside of school.  In addition to academics, character education is a vital part of ensuring that students we send into the world are ready to make responsible choices as our future leaders.”

The Stowe School District is enthused to have attracted such a skilled educational leader to Stowe Elementary School.  Please join us in welcoming Nina to our school community.
